As a twenty-year veteran educator and school administrator, I have taught and mentored
students of all ages, from various backgrounds and diverse academic and socio-emotional
needs. As such, I am ardent proponent of an individualized modality to education and truly
believe all students are unique and have a different path to unleashing their full potential.
Consequently, learning experiences that are tailored to personally reach them will provide
them with opportunities to build their confidence and help them succeed.
My classroom background includes teaching various subject matters and grade levels in
elementary, middle, and high school in private, charter and public school settings. I also
have experience teaching pre-service graduate level courses, and participating in
dissertation defense committees for doctoral candidates at Pepperdine University. As a
school administrator, I successfully led the opening a new charter school, and led various
WASC school accreditations and school CDE certifications. I possess extensive knowledge
and experience in policy development, research, aligning curriculum and assessments, data
analysis, supporting teachers through mentoring practices and pedagogical differentiation,
working to innovate the learning experience, caring for students through restorative
practices, and leading testing for the College Board suite of assessments.
I have a doctorate degree in educational leadership, administration and policy, and a
master’s degree in education with a specialization in teaching English as a second language
from Pepperdine University, California administrative and teaching credentials, and a
bachelor’s degree in History from Cal Poly Pomona.
During my personal time, I love to spend time with my husband and daughter. I also enjoy
outdoor running and training for half marathons, and take pleasure in cooking healthy
meals to enjoy with family and friends.
