One of the qualities we see the most improvement from our students is in their confidence. Many students find for the first time in a long while, they are “getting it.” Our one-student to one-teacher model allows students to ask questions, clarify their answers and learn to think critically. Teachers discover each student’s strengths and challenges and tailor instruction to their unique needs. Students have an opportunity to acknowledge and build on their gifts and work on strategies to help them overcome challenges. With flexible scheduling, students spend less time in the classroom and are able to schedule classes during optimal learning times.
Sometimes parents describe what their child was like in school before they came to Futures and we feel like they’re describing a different person. It’s remarkable how students can change when they are not weighed down by the pressures that often exist in traditional classrooms. We believe education shouldn’t be about competing with other students, or trying to find a way to engage in a lesson plan designed for 40 students – and no one student in particular – but still expecting that each child understands the concept and doesn’t get left behind. It should be about building on students’ own accomplishments and knowing that the only priority in their class is themselves. We invite you to visit our campus and experience first-hand the Futures difference. We are located in the heart of the Silicon Valley with direct access to Santa Clara, San Jose, Sunnyvale and Mountain View.
